01Search performance and tracking
We start with your real data: Google Search Console clicks, queries and search traffic by page, analytics, and whether calls and form submissions are tracked correctly.
Many audits uncover that leads were never being counted properly, which makes every other decision a guess.
02Technical SEO audit: crawling, indexing and Core Web Vitals
The technical SEO audit checks whether search engines can access, crawl and index your pages, starting with robots.txt and XML sitemaps.
We crawl the site and read Search Console's indexing reports to find pages Google cannot reach or will not index, duplicate content, broken links, broken redirects, canonical problems and site architecture issues. We also review user experience, layout and navigation, and measure Core Web Vitals (the LCP, INP and CLS standards) and page speed with Google PageSpeed Insights and field data. Not every flagged URL is a problem; some are excluded on purpose. We separate real issues from noise. Deeper technical work is covered on our technical SEO services page.
03On-page SEO, content quality and content audit
On-page SEO evaluates the content and optimization of individual pages: titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links and how well each page matches search intent.
We check whether each service you want more of has a page that matches how buyers search for it, whether city pages say anything specific or just swap the town name, and whether the wrong page ranks for your best keywords. The content audit assesses existing content for relevance and gaps. Content ages and needs regular updates, so it finds outdated pages, thin pages, pages competing for the same keyword, and gaps where competitors answer questions you do not. Keyword research then maps each valuable search to the page that should rank for it.
04Local SEO and Google Business Profile
A local SEO audit identifies geographic targeting opportunities in the cities you want to reach.
We review categories, services, service areas, photos, reviews and local citations, and check NAP consistency: whether your name, address and phone match across the web, which is crucial for local visibility. Service-area businesses that show an address where they do not serve customers, or list areas they cannot rank in, lose map calls. Our local SEO services page covers how we fix these.
05AI search visibility
An AI visibility audit assesses how AI platforms interpret your content.
We test the questions your customers actually ask in ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity and record whether you appear and how you are described. AI search engines favor clear, well-structured content and clear metadata, and may skip pages that are poorly structured or slow. AI answers move, so we label this as a point-in-time sample. It matters because AI search already produces leads: Fantastic Fence received 14 form leads from ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini from January to July 2026. See our AI SEO services for the ongoing work.
06Off-page SEO and off-page factors
Off-page factors are how established your business appears beyond its own site: relevant mentions, listings and links in your market.
Your link profile affects overall performance, so the backlink audit reviews link quality, flags toxic links from past campaigns that may need cleanup or disavowal, and looks at competitor link gaps: places competitors earn mentions you could earn too. We do not sell link counts, and we will not pad the report with them.
07The conversion path
Traffic that never calls is the most expensive kind.
We test forms, click-to-call buttons and landing pages on phones and desktop and look at what a visitor sees before they decide to contact you. Clear, useful copy on service and landing pages often matters as much as any technical fix. Sometimes the biggest finding is a broken form, and fixing it beats any ranking work.
