Website Redesign Services

Website redesign services rebuild an existing website's structure, design, mobile experience and conversion paths without throwing away the pages, content and search visibility that already bring in business. A professional website redesign starts with an audit, protects the URLs and tracking that already work, tests everything before launch, and is judged afterward by calls and form submissions, not by how the new website looks.

Kova Team is a digital marketing agency based in Sacramento, serving clients across California and beyond. We redesign websites for established contractors and home service companies that already have rankings, lead sources and customer trust to protect. The real risk is not that your current website is weak, but that someone replaces it carelessly and you end up with a prettier site that gets fewer calls.

Who Our Website Redesign Services Are For

Most of our redesign clients are roofers, remodelers, fence and window companies, home builders and restoration companies doing $3 million or more a year. They usually come to us with one of three problems:

  • An outdated website that buries the proof. Reviews, project photos and real results sit three clicks deep, so a skeptical homeowner never sees them.
  • Traffic arrives but does not convert. The phone number is hard to tap, forms ask too much, and service pages do not match what potential customers searched for.
  • Nobody can see what the site produces. Forms email a dead inbox, calls are not tracked, and the CRM has no idea where a lead came from.

A redesign should serve your business goals, usually more calls and form submissions, and those goals drive the decisions, not the color palette. If you want a plain read on whether a redesign is even the right move, book a free strategy call and we will tell you where your current site is losing business.

What Is Included in a Professional Website Redesign

A full website redesign is more than a new look. Every project includes the work that protects your organic traffic and turns visitors into leads:

  • Current-site audit: how the site performs today, what ranks, which pages produce calls and forms, and where visitors drop off.
  • Page and content inventory: every page, what it covers and what it earns, so nothing valuable disappears by accident.
  • Information architecture: clear service and city pages and intuitive navigation, so visitors and search engines find what matters.
  • Website design: a layout built around getting the visitor to call or submit a form, with your real project photos and proof up front.
  • Conversion rate optimization: page structure, calls to action and form design tested against how buyers actually behave. More on our CRO services page.
  • WordPress development: we usually build WordPress websites, which your team can update without a developer. See our WordPress website design and web development pages.
  • Content migration and new copy: moving the pages that already work and rewriting the ones that do not.
  • Search engine optimization safeguards: URLs, redirects, titles, internal links and structured data handled so rankings carry over.
  • Form, call and CRM tracking: every form wired to your CRM with the lead source attached.
  • Launch QA and monitoring: redirects, forms and tracking tested before launch, then Search Console, calls and forms watched in the weeks after.

Part of Kova Team's digital marketing services

Kova Team builds three things: SEO, Meta ads connected to your CRM, and websites.

One team plans all three, so when the new site is designed it already knows how search and paid leads will flow through it, and every page has a job. Our main web design services page covers new custom websites as well.

Outdated Website? Choose a New Website, a Refresh or a Smaller Fix

Not every site needs a full rebuild. Picking the right option saves money and protects the rankings you already have.

OptionWhen it fitsWhat changes
Targeted fixOne isolated problem: a slow page, a form that never reaches the CRM, broken trackingThat one page, form or tracking gap. Everything else stays.
Website refreshThe structure works, but the outdated design and messaging hide the proofVisuals, copy, calls to action and layout, with the same page structure and URLs.
Full redesignConfusing navigation, no clear service or city pages, or a technical base that cannot be fixed in placeNavigation, page structure, content, conversion paths and the build itself.

We would rather fix one page than sell you a rebuild you do not need. We diagnose first, then recommend the smallest change that gets the result. If a full redesign is the right call, we will show you why in plain terms before you spend a dollar.

How it works

How Our Website Redesign Process Works

Every redesign runs through four stages, with one team handling SEO, web design, forms and tracking so nothing falls between separate vendors.

  1. 1. Diagnose

We crawl the current site, pull Search Console baselines, review your Google Business Profile and tracking, and talk with you about which services and markets you want more of. This is where we decide, honestly, whether you need a redesign at all.

  2. 2. Plan and protect

Before anyone opens a design tool, we write down what is already making you money: URLs receiving clicks, pages producing calls and forms, high-value service and city pages, titles and headings, internal links, structured data, images, forms and call tracking, and the CRM fields that record each lead. Every item gets a plan: keep it, improve it, merge it, or retire it on purpose. Then we set measurable objectives, such as form submissions and calls per month. A competitor analysis identifies opportunities for brand differentiation, and creating simple user personas helps us understand audience motivations (the homeowner comparing three bids behaves differently from a property manager). Wireframes lay out the user flow from landing to calling.

  3. 3. Design and build with professional designers

We design the pages, write or migrate the content, build the site and connect forms, calls and the CRM. Your team can edit it without waiting on us.

  4. 4. Launch, measure and ongoing support

We test every redirect, form and conversion event, and our team conducts user testing to make sure the website functions well across devices: phones, tablets and desktops. Then we launch and then report on what the new site produces. After launch we keep monitoring rankings, forms and calls, because some performance issues only show up with real traffic, and fix what the data shows. Effective project management means clear timelines and communication between stakeholders, so you get one point of contact and same-day answers throughout.

How We Protect Your Existing Website's Rankings

A poorly executed redesign can damage search rankings, almost always because URLs changed during the site migration and nothing told Google where the pages went. We follow Google Search Central's site move guidance:

  • Keep valuable URLs where practical. The simplest way to protect a ranking page is to leave its address alone.
  • Map every changed URL to the closest relevant replacement. Pointing old pages at the homepage is a mistake; Google can treat it as a soft 404 and the value is lost.
  • Use permanent 301 redirects with no chains. Each old URL points straight to its final page, and redirects stay live for at least a year.
  • Update internal links, canonicals and the sitemap so Google reindexes the new structure quickly.
  • Remove staging blocks at launch. A forgotten noindex tag is one of the most common ways a relaunch fails.

Now the honest part. Rankings can move for a few weeks while Google recrawls a moved site, and larger sites take longer to settle. We will not promise a fixed ranking on a fixed date.

A Mobile Friendly Redesign Built for Calls and Forms

A redesign that looks great and converts worse is a loss. The goal is a balance of aesthetics and functionality: a site that looks like the quality of your work and makes the next step obvious. For a contractor, the visitor's path is short: understand what you do and where, see proof, find the page for their project and area, then call or submit a form. Every design decision is tested against that path, because a well-designed, usable site lowers bounce rates and lifts user engagement and conversion rates.

  • Tap-to-call on every page and a clear call to action nobody has to hunt for.
  • Short forms that ask only what your team needs to start the conversation.
  • Proof near the top: reviews, real project photos and results, not stock images.
  • Service and city pages that match what people searched, so a homeowner looking for a kitchen remodel lands on a kitchen remodeling page.
  • Responsive design. Google indexes the mobile version of your site, so the layout on mobile devices carries the same content and proof as the desktop one.
  • Speed. We build and test against Google's Core Web Vitals targets: Largest Contentful Paint within 2.5 seconds, Interaction to Next Paint under 200 milliseconds and Cumulative Layout Shift under 0.1.
  • Accessibility. Accessibility compliance means the website adheres to WCAG guidelines for usability: readable contrast, labeled forms and keyboard-friendly menus, so the site is user friendly for everyone.

Then the part most redesigns skip: every form goes into your CRM, tagged with its source. When Meta ads also feed the site, you see cost per lead and can follow each lead from first contact to a booked job. The website stops being a brochure and becomes the front door of a measurable lead generation engine.

Keeping Your Site Visible in Google and AI Search

AI visibility starts with crawlable, accurate, useful content. During a redesign we keep service details and results as real text, not inside images, keep structured data matched to the visible page, and preserve tracking of leads from AI assistants. Fantastic Fence, a Sacramento-area fence company we work with, received 14 form leads from ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini between January and July 2026. A redesign should keep that door open.

Client Results: Forms, Leads and Business Growth

These are individual clients' results over the dates shown. They come from websites working together with SEO and tracking, so we do not credit the design alone, and they are not a promise of what your site will do.

  • Fantastic Fence (fence company, Sacramento area): organic form submissions grew from 36 a month in December 2025 to 59 in July 2026, a period that included our redesign of its service and product pages in May and June 2026. Total organic leads, forms plus calls, went from 129 to 217 a month over the same period.
  • A Sacramento window installation company: website form submissions went from none in January 2026 to 8 to 9 a month in August and September 2026, part of total leads rising from 13 in Q1 to 40 in Q3 2026.
  • Towerpoint Wealth (wealth management, Sacramento): after Kova Team rebuilt its website in 2025, ranking keywords grew from 1,235 in December 2024 to 7,852 in February 2026 (Semrush estimates), showing that a careful rebuild can grow search visibility instead of resetting it.

How Much Do Website Redesign Services Cost?

Websites are one-time projects priced by how much the site needs to do:

  • Starter websites: from $3,000.
  • Growth websites: typically $8,000 to $12,000.
  • Custom builds: quoted by scope.

What moves the number: page count, how much content needs writing or migrating, custom features, and the tracking and CRM connections you need. We quote a fixed project price after a discovery call, so you know the full cost before we start. Full detail is on our pricing page.

FAQ

Website Redesign FAQ

Will a redesign hurt my Google rankings?

It should not if it is handled properly. We inventory every page that earns clicks, calls or forms, keep valuable URLs, redirect changed ones to their closest replacement and test before launch. Rankings can shift for a few weeks while Google recrawls, so we monitor Search Console closely after launch.

How long does a website redesign take?

It depends on scope: page count, content, custom features and integrations. A focused refresh moves much faster than a large custom build. We give you a clear timeline up front and will not promise a date we cannot hit.

Do I need a full redesign, or will a refresh do?

Often a refresh or a single fix is enough. If the structure works and the problem is dated design or buried proof, a refresh keeps your URLs and costs less. A full redesign is the right call only when the structure itself is holding the business back, and we will tell you which one applies.

Who owns the website after the redesign?

You do. The site, the domain, the accounts and all the data are built in your name. If we ever part ways, you keep every asset and all the history.

How do I choose between website redesign agencies after a bad experience?

Ask every website redesign company the same questions: what do you audit before design starts, how do you protect existing URLs, how are forms and calls tracked into the CRM, who owns the site, and will you recommend a smaller fix when that is enough? We start with an audit, not a mockup, and report on calls and form submissions, not page views. Start with a free call and judge us on the diagnosis.
